For most farmers, sustainability is more than just maintaining things as they are – it’s making things better. It’s passing on our land to the next generation in better shape than it was when we started. This is just part of who we are.
Unfortunately, I think few people outside of agriculture understand that. That is why I took time out of our harvest last year to film a video with CropLife Canada; to try and show just how much we care about the impact of what we do on our farm.
I am the CEO of Leguee Farms, a farm that operates near Weyburn, Saskatchewan, Canada. We grow durum, wheat, canola, peas, lentils, and various other crops.
I farm with my family, including my wife and two young sons, along with several other family members. We are a 3rd-generation farm that strives to continually improve - to leave things better than we found them.
I'm involved in various places in the agriculture industry as well to try and build a better future. As a farmer and an agronomist, agriculture, and the science and business therein, is my fascination and my passion.
